Great news for you and Suzie! Makes the Holidays that much more meaningful.

I really like the funky sound of a resonator guitar. I'm not much of a slide player but that's gotta be lots of fun. You hear that sound of steel on steel and it really wakes you up! All of a sudden you're deep in the Delta!

Anyone out there remember a guitar maker from the 60's named Espania? They were "om" sized, strung with 'silk and steel' strings (very light guage) but had a decent sound. Anyone???

I'll be purchasing a Larrivee D-02 in a couple of weeks. Next I'll be getting either an 8 track hard drive recorder or a Dell desktop with Sonar. Then I'll be set. That's my wish list right now. In the meantime I've been playing a blonde Birchwood Martin ($1295) which has stolen my heart. If I were suddenly rich (or even solvent) I'd choose that one even over the Tony Rice Santa Cruz I played at Guitar Center even though the Rice edition is more than double the price. The tone of the "Smartwoods" dreadnaught is equal and the volume is superior to the Cruz. This Martin booms!
