>>She's A Barmaid In The Honky Tonk Downstairs<<

"It's a shame she wears the name, of a man who's bound and chained............."
The purest country song Poco recorded. Rusty Young laid down that steel guitar solo as well or better than any "A" player in Nashville. George Jones had a hit with it in the early 70's.

>>I don't believe Les Paul was ever played by Lynard Skynard<<
Steve,
You may have something here because it would have really upset Mary Ford (his wife), especially when they plugged him in!

>>p.s. Todd are you playing a Sweet Home, and Give me, on a Les Paul?<<

No, Ted. I believe that the Les Paul was the lead guitar of choice on the original recordings. I can see them now, strapped about mid-thigh (way low). How can you get at anything with a guitar strapped so low? Another issue to discuss I guess..........

>>weighed many pounds!<<
Lars,
That is the greatest atribute of the Les Paul. For me, the instrument just does not tune up. It's probably my tin "country" ear. Ofcourse, it almost sounded in tune on "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Give Me Three Steps".

hmmm.........
Let me throw something into the HGT™ forum. Has anybody ever heard or played a Les Paul that sounded in tune?

>>Russia which has never embraced solid-state still uses tubes for electrical and electronic equipment<<
Man that's something to think about. I'm trying to imagine the Russian arsenal. Nuclear warheads, submarines, and fighter jets all doing tubes. It's a "warmer" feeling. Is the 6L6 king when installed on a Mig fighter? No problem with cooling in Siberia though. I'm just pondering the thought. Lars, where are you on this?

>>He played a villa-lobos etude, and another classical piece.<<
I can't even pronounce this stuff much-less play it. When you play all this fancy music at "Guitar Festivals", does that imply that you are playing for free? Ooooh! Willy Nelson would have asked for a nylon-string guitar too! But hey, Willy Nelson sucks.

Players,
I have invited two extremely good and experienced lead guitar players. Be looking for Wes Taylor and Ronnie Ray.
